PM directs the need to take urgent measures to reduce climate impacts

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi directed today, Tuesday, the need to take urgent measures to reduce climate impacts, while indicating that the government supports any project or program capable of facing environmental challenges.
The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi directed, during the cabinet session that was held today, the need to take urgent measures to reduce the climatic effects that seemed clear in the country through dust storms and it health effects on environmental and economic.
Al-Kadhimi stressed that "the government is supportive of any project or program capable of facing environmental challenges," directing "a number of relevant ministries to hold an expanded meeting to discuss and address the issue of desertification and come up with implementable proposals."
