The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research - MOHESR announced on Wednesday, the registration of 47 Iraqi universities and colleges with competitive sites in the Times Impact Ranking 2022 for the classification of sustainable development.
Times Impact Ranking of classification for sustainable development 2022 included 1406 institutions from 106 countries around the world, according to a statement by the Department of Relations and Information in the Ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

The results indicated the increase in the number of Iraqi universities and colleges that occupied ranks in the Times classification of sustainable development up to 47, topped by the University of Basra, which ranked (301-400) globally, then the University of Babylon (401-600) and the University of Baghdad (401-600), while the College of the Future ranked (801-1000).
The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings are the only global performance tables that assess universities for the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It uses carefully calibrated indicators to provide comprehensive and balanced comparison across four broad areas: research, stewardship, outreach and teaching.
It works on evaluating universities by achieving a number of United Nations goals out of 17 goals, including quality of education, health in addition to well-being, partnerships, industry and innovation.
