JOC: The "Iron Hammer" operation will not stop until cleansed the area

    The Joint Operations Command confirmed that the Iron Hammer operation carried out by the military units in Kirkuk is continuing, noting that it has achieved its set goals to dry up the sources of terrorism in the areas of Wadi al-Shay and Izghitun and the areas adjacent to the Hamrin mountain range.

    The Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant-General Abdul-Amir Al-Shammari, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The operation has achieved good results during the past two days and will continue until the area is completely cleansed of terrorist gangs."

    Al-Shammari added that "there are efforts being made by the leadership of Salah al-Din to tighten the screws on the enemy and eliminate it completely," noting that "the security forces have been able, since the start of the operation, to find hostels and various munitions that have been completely destroyed."

    He added, "The security forces will achieve many results in the coming days, and there is high coordination and intelligence efforts to determine the locations of the enemy through reconnaissance, army aviation and the Air Force Command," noting that "Operation Iron Hammer is a broad and comprehensive security operation, to search Wadi al-Shay and Wadi Izghitun in the governorate. Kirkuk and the areas adjacent to the Hamrin mountain range, with the participation of pieces of the Counter-Terrorism Service and the Special Forces of the Iraqi Army, with the support of the Air Force and Army Aviation Commands.
