Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein stressed on Wednesday, that Syria stability is important to Iraq.
"We thank Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian , as we had an important and frank meeting," said Hussein in a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Amir-Abdollahian, followed up by the Iraqi News Agency - INA, noting that "We talked about trade and economic relations. We have a constant theme in all meetings, which is to facilitate the visit of Iranian visitors,"
He noted, "Iraq and the region security were also discussed. When there is a security problem, dialogue is the way to the solution,"
Hussein also called for addressing the discussed issues via diplomatic means and dialogue.
"We discussed regional relations and the Iranian-Saudi dialogue," he said, adding that "the Iranian-Saudi dialogue is ongoing and is still within the framework of international representatives,”
He stressed "the Iraqi role in bringing the visions between the Iranian and Saudi sides closer," noting "We support Iran regarding the existence of a comprehensive government in Afghanistan,"
Hussein expressed his hope that negotiations will continue to find a solution to the Yemeni issue, stressing the need for "Syria's stability because it affects the Iraqi side,"
