Sayyed Al-Sistani: Daesh was a threat to Iraq and other countries

    The Supreme Religious Authority, Sayyed Ali al-Sistani, confirmed Monday, that the terrorist organization Daesh was threatening Iraq and other countries.
    The commander of Al-Abbas Combat Division, Maytham Al-Zaidi, said that “his Eminence Al-Sistani (may Allah Almighty prolong his life) said during his meeting with Al-Abbas Combat Division that Daesh was a real threat to Iraq and other countries , according to a statement by the media office received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
    Al-Zaidi said During his speech, to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the martyrdom of a group of the division’s heroes in the battles to liberate Al-Bashir, in the presence of the martyrs’ families and a large gathering of Kirkuk people, that “Al-Abbas Combat Division has close relations with the Turkmen of Kirkuk, that it lands witnessed the sign of sacrifice and sincerity by the blood of the martyrs.”
     
     
    Regarding the decision to liberate the village, the division commander said, “We have been very touched by the banners of the visitors from Al-Bashir during Arbaeen pilgrimage, on which it was written, ‘Is there a helper who can help us,’” noting that “these words were earth-shattering for us as we see our compatriots asking for a help. Thus we take the decision to carry out the operation to liberate al-Bashir village."
    Al-Zaidi continued, "Our decision from the beginning was either to liberate Al-Bashir or to die defending it, and it was an honor for us to sacrifice ourselves to protect our land," noting: "We assumed responsibility for the decision to liberate the village despite there are opponents to this decision at that time."
     
    Al-Zaidi also referred to the difficult situations that the division's heroes endured during the liberation Ops, as he said that "Our martyrs were the reason behind restoring al- Bashir villages from the hands of the criminals and terrorists " noting that "The dead bodies of our martyrs stayed on the ground for 20 days as if they had decided to console the companions of their Imam al-Hussein (peace be upon him)."
