The Ministry of Electricity confirmed, today, Friday, that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi directed all ministries to mobilize in favor of electricity, while noting that Qatar provided 1.5 million tons of gas annually.
The ministry's spokesman, Ahmed Moussa, said to the frankness program that is shown on the Iraqi News, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the production of electricity has reached about 16 thousand megawatts," noting that "the Ministry of Electricity is ready for the next summer season."
He added, "The ministry may reach 25,000 megawatts by next summer," pointing out that there is a permanent electricity operation room,
noting that "some governorates exceed their prescribed share of electricity," explaining that "the processing hours are governed by several factors." .
Moussa added that "the need still exists for Iranian gas," noting that "the ministry imports 30 million cubic meters of Iranian gas per day," noting that "the ministry's need will reach 70 million cubic meters of Iranian gas per day."
Moussa stressed that "Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi directed all ministries to mobilize in favor of electricity," noting that "a Chinese company has started work at the Anbar gas station."
He pointed out that "importing Qatari gas takes about 15 months, and it has saved us 1.5 million tons of gas annually," explaining that "the supply of electricity in the summer will be better than before."
