Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halboosi expressed on Wednesday, his hope for the end of military operations in Ukraine via diplomatic dialogues.
"Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad Al-Halboosi met the Chargé d'Affairs of the Ukrainian Embassy in Baghdad, Oleksandr Buravchenkov," said Al-Halbousi's media office in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
They discussed the international and regional developments and current events in Ukraine as Buravchenkov reviewed the difficult humanitarian conditions, the damage to infrastructure and the waves of IDPs in his country.
Al-Halboosi stressed, "Iraq has suffered from wars and their consequences of displacement and destruction, expressing regret for what Ukraine is suffering,”
He expressed his hope for "the complete end of military operations via diplomatic dialogue,"
Buravchenkov praised "Iraq's position and the continuation of the work of the Iraqi embassy in Kyiv,"
