US draft resolution demands Russia stop war in Ukraine

The United States circulated a draft resolution to the member states of the United Nations General Assembly calling on Russia to stop the war in Ukraine. 

The draft resolution calls on Russia to immediately halt the use of force in Ukraine and refrain from threatening any member state of the United Nations, and affirms member states' commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, as stated in its text. 

The draft resolution calls on Russia to immediately, completely and unconditionally withdraw all its military forces from the territory of Ukraine and stop the war there. 

The Russian-Ukrainian war has entered its fifth day, amid intensifying battles in eastern and northern Ukraine.
