The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, offered condolences to the people and the Islamic nation on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Al-Kadhim (peace be upon him).
President Salih said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "I offer my sincere condolences to the Iraqi people and to the Islamic nation on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Musa bin Jaafar Al-Kadhim (peace be upon him)."
He explained, "It is a great occasion to inspire the ideals for which Imam Al-Kadhim sacrificed, enduring difficulties with patience and determination to uphold the principles of truth, justice and humanity and reject injustice and persecution."
And he continued, "We salute the huge crowds of millions visiting his holy shrine in the holy Kadhimiya, and we support those who serve the visitors, and our armed forces that made great efforts to secure and protect the visitors, and we ask God Almighty to preserve the Iraqis and protect our country from all evil and harm."
