US requests Security Council session to discuss situations in Ukraine

A source announced that the United States requested a session of the UN Security Council on Sunday to discuss the situation on Ukraine.

"The request has been sent, and according to the procedures, the President of the Security Council will announce the date of the meeting,” said the source.

Russia used its veto in the UN Security Council and blocked a draft resolution condemning the Russian attack on Ukraine last night.

The draft resolution was presented to the Security Council on Friday by the United States and some other countries.

Eleven countries voted in favor of the draft resolution, while 3 countries abstained, and Russia, which has veto power, voted against it.
