Kirkuk suffers from a very high rate of mines, we addressed the Council of Ministers in an official letter and a copy of it was sent to the Ministry of Environment to indicate the necessity of clearing lands and treating mines in the governorate that cause danger, Al-Jubouri told The Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He added that “Mine clearance in Kirkuk has reached 10%," noting that "there are a large number of planted mines, and the volume of aid provided is weak and limited."
Al-Jubouri added, "Many ambassadors of donor countries visit the province and provide support through the Ministry of Environment, which is concerned with environmental affairs, land preparation, security and protection."
