President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky formed the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief (SVG).
The corresponding decree No. 72/2022 is published on the website of the Office of the President.
As noted in the document, the SVG was formed in connection with the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which threatens its state independence and territorial integrity to ensure the strategic leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations and law enforcement agencies.
The decisions were made on the basis of a proposal from the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).
The composition of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief was also formed.
The presidential decree also terminated the activities of the NSDC Military Cabinet, and the Cabinet of Ministers, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Administration of Affairs were instructed to provide the equipment of workplaces for the performance of functional duties by the operational staff of command posts in the places of deployment of the SVG.
