The General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein held the first National Conference to end Terrorism in the presence of religious, political and social figures, including national security adviser Qasim al-Araji.
"The Imam Hussein Holly Shrine has been preparing for more than a year to sponsor this conference and its aim is to protect society from this abhorrent phenomenon," Saif Ali al-Qaraawi, chairman of the preparatory committee for the conference, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"Many institutions participated in the conference, some scientific, some religious, some academic, and played a role in all the resolutions and in all the objectives we set for the conference," he said, adding that "More than 140 researches participated in this conference, of which 110 were accepted and this researches will be discussed over a full two days.”
