The head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faiq Zaidan, went to London today, Sunday, on an official visit.
The Supreme Judicial Council said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faiq Zaidan, went to the British capital, London, at the invitation of the United Kingdom government."
Supreme Judicial Council added that "the visit will witness the signing of a memorandum of understanding concerning cooperation between the Iraqi, and the British judiciary and the specialized agencies in combating terrorism, exchanging information related to judicial investigations into terrorist crimes, and cooperation between the Judicial Institute in Iraq and counterpart institutes in the United Kingdom."
