Civil Defense teams prevent an environmental disaster in Nineveh

 The Civil Defense Directorate announced Today, Tuesday that it had prevented an environmental disaster in Nineveh province.
 
A statement by the Directorate, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "The civil defense teams managed to rescue the driver of a tanker loaded with crude oil, who fell from the top of the Sennacherib Bridge and fell into the Al-Khawser River inside the city of Mosul."
 
The statement added that "The teams used hydraulic cutting and separation devices to cut the metal and remove the debris from the driver's body and free him, while securing his transfer to the nearby hospital to receive the necessary treatment, in conjunction with preventive measures to limit the spillage of the polluted oil product to the river and prevent an environmental disaster in the agricultural areas that the river passes through."
