The Lebanese Minister of Public Works and Transport, Ali Hamiyah, revealed the agenda of his visit to the capital, Baghdad, while he identified 3 files that will be discussed with Iraqi officials.

Hamiyah told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that he "will discuss with Iraqi officials the transit movement through Iraqi territory and support the inclusion of Lebanon in the transit lines, especially with Kuwait and Iran, starting from the Iraqi-Syrian border crossings and the Iraqi-Jordanian borders to the Gulf region.".

He added, "The talks will address the entry of Lebanese trucks whose final destination is Iraqi territory into Iraqi cities and governorates so that the process of unloading the cargo or loading the trailer does not remain in the exchange yards at the Iraqi-Syrian border, which affects the revitalization of the desired trade movement between the two countries.".

He pointed out that "he will also discuss the possibility of preparing agreements at the level of air and sea transport between the two countries, in addition to activating land transport between the two countries," noting that "the discussions will also address Iraq's contribution to the reconstruction of the port of Beirut.".

The Iraqi Minister of Transport, Nasser Hussein Al-Shibli, stressed, during his meeting with his Lebanese counterpart, Ali Hamiyah, earlier today, Saturday, the importance of opening prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries in all fields.
