KNPC: 10 injured in fire at a Kuwaiti oil refinery

    A fire in a gas liquefaction unit in Kuwait's largest oil refinery resulted in the injury of ten people, five of whom were seriously injured, according to the Kuwait National Petroleum Company, which operates the refinery. 

    The company announced via Twitter that "a fire broke out during the maintenance operations of the gas liquefaction unit No. 32 at the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery." 

    The government company stated that "10 injuries were recorded, and 7 of them were transferred to Al-Adan Hospital to complete treatment, 5 of them with severe burns," noting that "the firefighting teams were able to fully control the fire." 

    The company also confirmed that "the refinery's operations and export operations were not affected by the fire," noting that "the damaged unit is out of service."
