Hilla Investigation Court ratifies confessions of 13 defendants about the murder of an entire family in Babil

    Hilla Investigation Court ratified on Monday, the confessions of thirteen defendants about the murder of an entire family in the Al-Rashaid area in Babil province.
     
    The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "The competent investigative judge confirmed the statements of thirteen defendants, including nine officers and three members, in addition to the informant who gave incorrect information, regarding the murder of an entire family in the Al-Rashaid area of the governorate." 
     
    SJC  added, "Through the investigations , we discovered that the cause of the accident was based on false information by (the victim's nephew / son-in-law) due to family disputes  , as he gave incorrect information to the security services, claiming the presence of wanted terrorists in accordance with Article (4 of Anti-Terrorism Law  No. (13) of 2005 in the home of the (victim) ".
     
    The statement also mentioned that four arrest warrants have been issued to other accused and the investigation is under way in accordance with article 406/1/ of the Penal Code No. 111 of 1969 and with reference to articles 47, 48 and 49 thereof," noting that "preliminary investigations indicate that the incident is criminal."
