The head of the Iranian Olympic Committee, Reza Amiri, confirmed his country's efforts to seriously support Iraq in sports, this came during a press conference he held on the sidelines of signing a memorandum of understanding with the Iraqi National Olympic Committee.
Amiri said in the press conference, which was attended by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Sunday, that "Iraq is our second home, and all Iranian facilities are at the disposal of Iraqi athletes." Noting, "He will hold a meeting with the President of the Iranian Football Association in order to bring his team to Iraq and contribute in breaking the ban imposed on it."
Amiri added, "We have reached important agreements with the Iraqi side, including the exchange of experiences in the sports field and the establishment of mutual training courses, stressing Iran's endeavor to seriously and effectively assist Iraq in sports."
For his part, the head of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, Raad Hammoudi, expressed his pleasure at signing the cooperation agreement with Iran, stressing the committee's efforts to benefit from it to develop the reality of Iraqi sports.
