MOCH: The government draw a vision for sustainable development lasts until 2030

    The Minister of Construction and Housing - MOCH, Nazanin Mohamed Wassou, confirmed on Wednesday, that the government has drawn up its vision for sustainable development until 2030.

    "Wassou, participated in the 38th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction, and the Fourth Arab Ministerial Forum for Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan,” according to a statement by the Ministry of Construction, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA). 

    At the beginning of her speech, the minister conveyed, according to the statement, the greetings and wishes of the Iraqi government and Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, for the convening of this conference, to exchange visions, ideas and share experiences to build resilient cities that are able to withstand, by planning residential communities that enhance the quality of life of the population with close social ties and a high level of safety, a sense of equality and strong economic performance.

    The minister stressed, "Iraq has been actively participating in the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction, as the events held on its sidelines, in the belief that its outputs are part of the vocabulary of plans and programs that it needs to support its vision of sustainable urban development, strengthen relations with partners and closely look at the activities of  internation human organizations  settlements to secure a better urban future,”

    "The government of Iraq drawn its vision for sustainable development until 2030, for an empowered citizen in a safe country, a unified society, a diversified economy, and a sustainable environment, as (Dari) initiative was launched to create new cities with integrated urban communities outside city centers, to accommodate the increasing population growth and alleviate, putting pressure on city centers, granting loans to buy or build independent housing units with long repayment periods without interest, adhering to the basic plans of cities and putting an end to the abuses that occur on it,” she included.

    The Minister concluded her speech by ”thanking and appreciating the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for its generous hosting, and all the parties that worked diligently to follow up and mature the ideas and concepts that will be presented at the Arab Ministerial Forum on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development,”
