Leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, stressed Sunday the need to provide the necessary support and care for Iraqi sports.
Al-Sadr's office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada Al-Sadr, received the delegation of the Iraqi youth football team, which won the West Asian Youth Championship, which was recently concluded at Al-Madina Stadium in Baghdad."
Al-Sadr stressed, according to the statement, that "everyone is required to persevere and take action for the sake of the homeland and the people," wishing "conciliation and continued success and victory in all sports activities."
Al-Sadr stressed "the need to provide the necessary support and care for Iraqi sports in all its aspects."
For its part, the delegation thanked Al-Sadr for his care and interest in sports and athletes, and for the warm reception and honor.
