MOEHSR: Two agreements with the Italian University of Bologna

    Ministry of Education announced that the Scholarships Department and the University of Mosul signed two agreements with the Italian University of Bologna, while the Minister of Higher Education confirmed that Iraqi universities are distinguished by their academic presence in international forums.
     
    Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Nabil Kadhim Abdul-Sahib, sponsored signing two agreements for the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations, and the University of Mosul with the Italian University of Bologna, according to a statement by MOHESR, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
    The two agreements signed by Hazem Baqir Taher, Director-General of the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations, and the President of Mosul University, Qusay Al-Ahmadi, as it included several items, including scientific cooperation in the field of archeology and excavation, cultural and academic exchange programs, scholarships and fellowships for Iraqi students in rare specialties, and scientific research projects between the two sides as well as joint supervision.
     
    During the signing ceremony that took place in Italy, the Minister of Higher Education stressed "the importance of the international partnership, which is in the interest of developing the academic cooperation environment between the two countries, especially in light of the rapid scientific developments in various fields,"
     
    "Iraqi universities are distinguished by their academic presence in international forums. Their current results in international rankings, the amount of scientific researches in well-known titles, in addition to the response and dealing with challenges make it worthy of these partnerships with international universities through programs and agreements that achieve the goals of the Iraqi academic institution in knowledge and community service,” said Abdul-Sahib.
     
    For his part, the President of the Italian University of Bologna, Professor Giovanni Mollari, praised the “understanding and coordination with the Iraqi side, the cross-fertilization of experiences, the keenness to crystallize the environments of purposeful cooperation and the openness of the Iraqi Ministry of Education to international educational systems, especially the (Bologna Process) system, and the move towards modernizing the fields of education,”
