Iraq and Germany emphasize stopping citizen smuggling networks

    Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein and German Minister of State for Foreign Affairs affirmed today, Sunday,  the need to move quickly to stop the networks of smuggling citizens.
     
    "Foreign Minister Fuad Hussain met with the German Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Miguel Burger, on the sidelines of the Regional Security Summit / The IISS Manama Dialogue 17, as both Ministers stressed support for the voluntary return of migrants stranded on the border strip between Belarus and Poland, and to move quickly to stop smuggling networks." MOFA said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
    Both sides have also discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, and the prospects for advancing them to meet the aspirations of the two friendly peoples."
     
    Hussein added that "The Iraqi government is ready to provide support and assistance to Iraqi immigrants and repatriate them to Iraq by voluntary return flights," stressing "his keenness to strengthen means of bilateral cooperation with Berlin in various fields."
     
    MOFA statement also added, "The two sides discussed the economic file, and activating the mechanisms of bilateral cooperation for the benefit of Iraq and Germany."
     
    The German Minister of State for Foreign Affairs stated that "The parliamentary elections that took place last month were monitored internationally, in a way that enhances the democratic path in Iraq, and positively reflects on the unity of the Iraqi components."
