Iraq: Invitation to participate in Global Industrialization Forum, Italy

    National Investment Commission announced on Wednesday, receiving an invitation to Iraq to join the countries participating in the Global Industrialization Forum in Italy.

    The head of the National Investment Commission, Suha Daoud Najjar, participated in the Global Industrialization Forum, which was held in the Italian city of Cernobbio / Como, at the official invitation of the Global Industrialization Corporation and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization UNIDO, according to a statement by the Commission, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

    The head of the National Investment Commission stated in a speech during its participation in the forum, that "Iraq, despite all the challenges it has faced, is proceeding at a steady and sound pace of recovery and advancement as it looks to the future in a spirit of openness towards successful experiences and partnerships that enhance opportunities for the development of its sectors in the areas of cost, especially the industrial sector,”

    Najjar pointed out that "there are non-oil economic resources owned by Iraq that can be invested in various industries, and the head of the National Investment Commission invited all official bodies, companies and investors specialized in the industrial sector to consider expanding the horizons of cooperation with Iraq,”

    She called on the specialized companies to visit Iraq, stressing the readiness of the commission, Iraqi state institutions and relevant ministries to provide all facilities to start their work, and to build partnerships with the Iraqi public and private sectors for the reconstruction, as well as its interest in cooperation;  to gain access to modern and advanced knowledge in addition to the mechanisms in managing projects,”

    She expressed the country’s desire to support projects while developing skills, empowering workers, creating the appropriate environment for job opportunities, developing national production and raising the efficiency of services.

    The Commission indicated that "at the conclusion of the forum, an invitation was extended to Iraq to join the countries participating in the forum, in order to expand cooperation with these countries in the industrial and investment fields,”

    “The ambassador of Iraq to Italy, Safiya al-Suhail, participated in the forum's work,” she noted.
