The Supreme Judicial Council announced on Monday, the death sentence for a terrorist who detonated a car bomb in the holy Najaf province.
SJC media office stated in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Najaf Criminal Court issued a death sentence against a terrorist who detonated a car bomb in Najaf province."
He added, "The terrorist confessed the details of this crime after detonating an Aveo-type car bomb in the Al-Ansar area in the holy city of Najaf, together with other defendants, which resulted in various injuries to innocent citizens and material damage to a number of shops and restaurants."
The statement noted that "the death sentence of a terrorist comes in accordance with the provisions of Article 4/1 and in the context of Article II/1 of the Anti-Terrorism Law No. 13 of 2005."
