Minister of Water Resources Mehdi Rashid al-Hamdani issued On Thursday directives on the water file in Basra.
"Minister Mahdi Rashid al-Hamdani chaired a technical meeting today to manage the Basra Pipeline Water Project, which included the ministry's advanced staff and the directors of the ministry's formations in Basra province," said a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"The minister addressed the need for field follow-up of the work and the cooperation of all in order to continue to provide a fixed water quota for Basra province with a satisfactory quality and quantity and to raise the Basra logo first," the statement said.
Al-Hamdani stressed the need to increase the automatic and human effort working in projects to complete their work within the plans developed and continue the campaign to remove excesses from the irrigation projects and apply the system of al-Marashneh to achieve justice in water distributions," the statement said.”
"The need to solve the problem of electric power for the pumps of the Badaa canal outlet in Dhi Qar province and provide electricity continuously while cleaning the plant from the deposits near Nazim al-Bada'a," the statement said.
