SMC announced Sunday, the arrest of two drug dealers near the border with Syria.
The cell said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Based on accurate intelligence information that there was a process of entering a large amount of narcotic pills into Al-Qaim district from Syria, a working team from the Federal Intelligence and Investigation Agency was formed, after obtaining judicial approvals the team headed to Qaim and set up a tight ambush.
The cell added, "The detachment was able to arrest two suspects, who are drug dealers, red handed in possession of 93,000 narcotic pills, equivalent to about 17 kilograms of narcotic substances."
The cell also pointed out that "legal measures were taken against them in accordance with the provisions of Articles 32 and 28 / drugs."
