Erbil-INA
Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnao confirmed Saturday that the fuel crisis will end soon after the government's agreement with the Federal Oil Ministry.
"The crisis of shortage and high prices of cooking gas is temporal and will be solved in the coming days," Khoshnao said at a press conference held in Erbil attended by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Noting that "The problem is the lack of gas supply to factories, and measures will be taken in this regard, by monitoring the work of gas distribution agents, and with each car selling gas, a police officer will be able to monitor the sale at the specified price.”
"The province will maintain prices, and those who raise prices will be held accountable," he said.
"The province will work with the Ministry of Natural Resources in the regional government not to raise gasoline prices," Khoshnao said, adding that "the government of the region has an earlier agreement with the Federal Ministry of Oil to provide the region with a share of gasoline."
