"The administration of the province, despite the lack of financial allocations, has worked since the beginning of last year to rehabilitate hundreds of kilometers of streets, in addition to the establishment of 110 schools, “Governor Hassan Mendeel told the Iraqi News Agency.
"There are 200 various projects within the 2021 plan, covering all sectors and administrative units of the province," Mendeel said, adding that "the rehabilitation of the archaeological city has been completed as part of the financial allocations for the development of the provinces."
"The Babylon International Festival will be inaugurated on 28th of this month with the participation of 56 Arab and foreign countries, after the archaeological city, babylonian theatre, streets and surrounding sidewalks have been rehabilitated, and the area will be decorated to be ready for the festival," he said, noting that "if the province is supported by the federal government, it will create hundreds of jobs, as well as obtain financial returns from the tourism sector."
