Independent High Electoral Commission – IHEC issued on Saturday, a warning to the mass media and journalists.
IHEC called on media and journalists, to be accurate and not to take videos that do not belong at all to these elections, especially since "those who check them find that they contain procedures and ballot papers related to previous elections, "according to a statement by the commission, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The statement included, "The presentation of these videos and linking them to the current elections, which began on Friday, will not delay the high concern of the staff of the Commission that the general vote will take place, on Sunday, at a level worthy of the institution's unprecedented efforts and preparations,."
"The Electoral Commission reserves its legal right to respond to the insistence of some websites to mislead public opinion and to publish and promote such videos, with the aim of influencing the convictions of voters, especially as we are in critical and sensitive hours before the start of Iraqis voting in the October 10th elections,"added the statement.
