The command of the Popular Mobilization forces launched today, Wednesday, a security operation to pursue the terrorist members in Diyala province.
Operations Commander Talib al-Moussawi said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Infantry forces in brigades: 4, 23 and 24 at the PMF launched this morning a large-scale security operation to pursue ISIS remnants in the Thalab Basin in Diyala," noting that "the operation is supported by artillery fire, drones and thermal cameras to deal with targets that the intelligence sources confirmed their presence”.
He added, "In this operation, the system of mountain wars was carried out, and the goals advanced on foot and in leaps to secure the axies," noting that "the role of the intelligence effort and military engineering of the Popular Mobilization Forces is very effective in opening roads and delivering the units to their targets, as well as the anti-explosive detachments that It had a major role in lifting the planted IEDs along the road, in addition to the efforts of all other forces."
Al-Moussawi confirmed, according to the statement, "continuing the security operations to pursue outlaw members in the province."
