Minister of Education Ali Al-Dulaimi confirmed today, Monday, the intention of the Ministry of Education (MoE) to open new centers to eradicate illiteracy in prisons, spreading a culture of science and knowledge and reducing the effects of crime in society.
"The Minister of Education, Ali Hamid Al-Dulaimi, received the Minister of Justice, Judge Salar Abdul-Sattar Muhammad, and the two sides discussed the principle of promoting the idea of life away from terrorism in the souls of the convicts inside prisons." According to the statement by the MoE, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Al-Dulaimi stressed the importance of increasing communication in supporting joint committees, especially on the issue of educational, intellectual and psychological rehabilitation of convicts inside prisons through cooperation with ministries and relevant authorities, noting that the ministry is continuing to open new literacy centers in prisons to spread a culture of science and knowledge, and reducing the effects of crime in society.
For his part, Minister of Justice Judge Salar Abdul Sattar Muhammad expressed histhanks to the Minister of Education for providing this opportunity to discuss joint files related to the educational and rehabilitation aspect of prisoners, as well as increasing the efforts to activate the Minors Care Council and giving great attention to juvenile prison centers to create a conscious generation that builds the future of the new Iraq away from crime."
