Ministry of Transport announced today Monday that a 5.7-magnitude earthquake hit areas of southwestern Iran, while noting that Basra and Maysan people felt it.
“An earthquake hit this morning, southwestern regions of Iran," noting that "the tremor was recorded at 05:39:28, with a magnitude of 5.7 in the Khostan Bakhtiari region, southwest of Iran”, said the Ministry in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The statement also added that "people in Basra, Maysan and Kuwait felt the tremor," calling on citizens to take caution and avoid rumors and false news and abide by the seismic recommendations issued by The General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring."
