The Iraqi Ministry of Transport announced today, Thursday that a 3.8-magnitude earthquake was recorded in Sulaymaniyah province.
A statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "Its seismic observatories in the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring recorded an earthquake this morning, southeast of Kalar in Sulaymaniyah province."
The statement added that "The earthquake was felt by citizens in the area," calling on "citizens to take precautions, avoid rumors and false news, and abide by the seismic recommendations issued by the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring."
