The Ministry of Migration and Displacement today, Friday, confirmed that the displaced in the camps will vote under the supervision of the United Nations.
The Director-General of the local office affairs department in the Ministry of Immigration, Ali Abbas, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the ministry is interested in the issue of elections for the displaced in the camps, and there are communications and joint committees between the Commission and the Ministry of Immigration through its branches, especially in the Kurdistan region.
Abbas added, "The polling stations designated for the displaced included the Dohuk camps, with 24 voting centers inside the camps, and voting centers near the camps in Sulaymaniyah."
He pointed out that "there is an attempt to make the electoral centers inside the camps because the displaced families cannot leaving the camp for the electoral center," stressing that "there is a preliminary approval on this matter.
