Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday, that it is in the process of obligating the teaching of human rights in training centers, while indicating that there are committees to monitor the application of human rights principles.
Ministry spokesman Khalid Al-Muhanna told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "there are committees in the Ministry of Interior that adopt monitoring issues of human rights principles," noting that "the ministry includes infrastructure and procedures related to human rights issues."
He added, "There will be emphasis on training departments and centers in teaching human rights subjects, and these subjects will be basic, and the student will only succeed through the success of lessons related to human rights principles."
On his part, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi directed On September 24, 2021, to form a new committee to monitor the implementation of human rights standards, monitor the work of investigators, and take clear pledges that human rights principles must be adhered to for each person charged with conducting any investigation.
He also stressed the day before yesterday, Monday that confronting human rights violations in Iraq is not an easy task, and it is not done with good intentions only.
