National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji confirmed today, Saturday, that there is no waiver of Iraq's water rights.
Al-Araji said in a speech during the Water Security Conference, which was attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "The Ministry of Water Resources is exerting its utmost efforts for the sake of Iraq's water resources, due to the fact that water is involved in all life matters."
Al-Araji added that "The rights of the people cannot be waived, as the demand for rights must be a culture," stressing that" serious efforts must be conducted to rationalize water consumption."
He also affirmed that "the National Security Advisory supports the efforts of the Ministry of Water Resources, as the national entitlement must be defended.
