National Security Adviser Qassem Al-Araji handed over today, Sunday, the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad , the invitation of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi to attend the Baghdad Summit.
A statement issued by the media office of the National Security Adviser, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said that "the National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, met the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad.".
He added, "Al-Araji handed Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad an invitation to Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, to attend the Baghdad summit, and they also discussed the latest political and security developments at the regional and international levels.".
The statement continued, "Bin Hamad confirmed during the meeting his full support for the Baghdad summit, and his aspiration for its success and achieving its set goals.".
The statement stated that "Al-Araji also met in Doha, Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman, and they discussed ways to strengthen Iraqi-Qatari relations at all levels, in the interest of the two brotherly countries and peoples," noting that "Al-Araji met with the National Security Adviser." And they discussed security and information cooperation, combating terrorism, and strengthening regional and international security.
On the sidelines of his visit to Doha, Al-Araji visited the Iraqi embassy and met with its staff, and was briefed on the details of the embassy's work and the services it provides to Iraqis in Qatar.
