Efforts to produce 400,000 barrels per day from Halfaya oil field in Maysan

The Director General of Maysan Oil Company, Engineer Ali Jassim Hammoud, confirmed today, Friday, that work is continuing in Halfaya oil field in order to achieve the production of 400,000 barrels of oil per day.

Hammoud said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Halfaya oil field is one of the most prominent fields of Maysan Oil Company, as it is being developed by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) under its contract with the Ministry of Oil to reach the production of 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day."

Hammoud also added that “The development operations also include benefiting from the associated gas of crude oil in operating electric power plants and sustainable energy projects, and implementing projects aimed at improving the service situation for the people living near the development projects”.
