The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Hassan Al - Kaabi, on Sunday, called for an immediate start to uproot corrupt and incompetent leaders at the Ministry of Electricity, while noting the need for an all - out revolution that begins with a change in those unprofessional leaders.
Al-Kaabi’s media office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “Al-Kaabi has received the Minister of Electricity, Adel Kerim, to discuss the production of electricity, the repeated targeting of power towers and completing the process of the electrical connection with the Gulf States."
Al-Kaabi stressed that "Change of leadership and a number of incompetent executives in the Ministry of Electricity must begin”, adding that “The electricity file is one of the most important priorities for the work of the parliament, as it is directly affect o the life of the citizen. Therefore, the Ministry needs a rapid and comprehensive revolution, starting with rooting out the corrupt and incompetent leaders who have contributed to mismanage the work of the ministry over the past two decades, and the need for a good leader surrounded by professional cadres to achieve the needed objectives."
The statement added that “The issues of targeting the power towers, the need for greater coordination with all the security agencies in this regard, as well as the importance of the Minister's participation in the discussion of the allocations and technical plans put forward by the parliament, were also discussed.
