The Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) has confirmed that its security duties are as subtle and quick to the goal and not spatial as in the forces of the Interior Ministry and the Army.
CTS Spokesman Sabah Al-Numan, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the duties of the Counter-Terrorism Service are quick and not spatial duties, that is, the device does not exist to secure areas or have control points and positions, as in the interior forces and the Iraqi army, noting that the operations that CTS carried out are quickly implemented and then the force withdraws, depending on the nature of the situation, the ground, the length and the duration of the operation.
Al-Numan added, "The duration of existing in the location of the operation is very short, because it has operations in different regions and it does not necessarily remain in the same areas.
He pointed out that "the operations of the CTS are part of the joint operations and under the command of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. Thus any operation carried out , whether in Tarmiyah or in any other area, will be implemented according to the operational plan of the CTS and also according to the intelligence information obtained in the areas where the terrorist organization is active, this includes Tarmiyah and many other areas.
Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, announced the launch of a security operation in Tarmiyah district, which shares its borders with Salah Al-Din province, to purge it of terrorism.
