Our national team achieved six medals in physical strength on the first day of the World Championships in physical strength, which is currently being held in the Romanian capital Bucharest.
The Federation of Physical Strength stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency that "our national team player in the youth category, Mahdi Tariq Saleh, won three different medals on the first day of the championship, and a bronze medal in the Al-Dabni event and the same in the Al-Beng Press event, in addition to a gold medal in the event of the draw (Dead lift).
He added that "the player of the national team, Sajjad Rakhid Dhari, won three medals, a bronze medal in the Al-Dabni event and the same in the Bing Press event, while he achieved a gold medal in the (Dead Lift) drag event," noting that "the national team achieved, in total, third place in today's competitions.
He added that "the tournament witnessed strong competitions between the participating teams since its first day, expressing his hope" to achieve a number of other medals in the coming days.
