The Minister of Natural Resources at Kurdistan Regional Government, Kamal Atrushi, confirmed today, Saturday, that the Federal Oil Ministry will provide the region with one million liters of gasoline per day.
Atrushi said in press statements followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that he met with the oil minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar who agreed to provide KRG with one million liters of gasoline per day, starting on the 23rd of current Aug, affirming that the price of a liter of gasoline will be set at 650 dinars, as Atrushi emphasized that he will personally supervises the distribution of gasoline sent from Baghdad to all the distribution stations in the region.
He pointed out that "his meeting with the Minister of Oil was successful and fruitful and also resulted in an agreement to distribute kerosene to all the citizens of Kurdistan, stressing that no family in Kurdistan will remain without kerosene in the coming winter.
In a related issue, Atrushi pointed out that the Kurdistan region has reserves of natural gas estimated at 25 trillion cubic meters.
