The Ministry of Health and Environment announced on Monday, the inauguration of an advanced laboratory to detect the mutated strains of Corona virus.
The Director-General of Public Health Department at MOH, Riyadh Abdul-Amir told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "an advanced laboratory has been inaugurated to analyze the genetic sequences of viruses, noting that the importance of the laboratory will lie in diagnosing mutated strains of the Corona virus.
Abdul-Amir added that the laboratory was tested by examining a number of samples, as Delta strain was diagnosed among those samples.
He pointed out that "the laboratory is also used in diagnosing tumors and genetic sequencing of many cancerous and hereditary diseases, as well as determining the type of treatment for these diseases.
