The Ministry of Electricity announced on Monday, that new act f sabotage targeted the power transmission towers in Kirkuk province, while indicating that the engineering and technical cadres started to inspect the damaged line to speed up the completion of the required maintenance.
The ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the 400 kv high voltage electric power transmission line (Kirkuk - Center Erbil) of the General Electricity Transmission Company in the northern region was targeted on Sunday evening by a terrorist act of sabotage through detonating it by IEDs, causing damage to the tower No. (369), the leaning of the tower No. (370), cutting in the wires of the towers and being out of service.
The statement added that the engineering and technical staff in the aforementioned public company, accompanied by the security forces, proceeded to inspect the damaged line for the purpose of speeding up the completion of the required maintenance and returning them to service, explaining that the insistence of the terrorist members to target vital points in the national system, and to re-destroy everything that the advanced and dedicated staff of the Ministry exerted utmost efforts in it , is an evidence of their attempt to kill the life in this country that being targeted by through the file of services, first and foremost the electricity.
