The West Nineveh Operations Command counted today, Wednesday, the number of families returning to their areas until yesterday, while it indicated that security orders were issued to revive the Husseini rituals .
The Commander of West Nineveh Operations, Major General Jabbar al-Tai, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the increasing return of the displaced is a clear and positive indication of this stability," noting that "the number of families returning until last Monday amounted to 7,596 families."
He added that "the commemoration of the seventh anniversary of the August 3 massacre, which the Yezidis were subjected to, and the genocide launched by ISIS terrorist gangs on Sinjar, is also an indication of stability in those areas," noting that "the members of the Yezidi community peacefully revived the anniversary of the genocide for two consecutive days."
In a related development, Al-Ta’i pointed out that “preparations are currently underway to revive the Husseini rituals on the occasion of the holy month of Muharram, as a security conference was held yesterday in the Doctrinal Guidance Hall in Tal Afar District, headed by the commander of West Nineveh operations and in the presence of the mayor of Tal Afar district, and the deputy commander of the division.
