PM's advisor: Four major projects will be implemented within Chinese agreement

    Today, Friday, the Prime Minister's Adviser for Reconstruction Affairs, Sabah Abdul Latif, revealed that there are major projects that will be implemented within the Chinese agreement.
    Abdul Latif told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "all legal problems have been resolved and that depositing Iraq's money, which is 100,000 barrels per day, began in the sovereign fund during the past two days," noting that "the price of 100,000 barrels of oil, will be deposited in Fund, and these sums are used in construction.
    He added, "There are Four major projects that will be harnessed in reconstruction, which is the construction of 91,000 housing units in Sadr City, with a amount of approximately $8 billion, as well as the reconstruction of Nasiriyah Airport, in which the cornerstone has been laid, in addition to the construction of 1,000 schools in all of Iraq." As well as the implementation of sewage projects in four areas in the capital, Baghdad, through this agreement.
    He stressed that "the agreement is open until any of the parties request to stop it."
    The Prime Minister's Adviser for Financial Affairs, Madhir Muhammad Salih, had earlier revealed the details of the cooperation framework agreement signed between Iraq and China, while noting that the agreement had entered into force.
    Saleh told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The cooperation framework agreement between Iraq and the People's Republic of China, signed with its final accounting and oil annexes on September 23, 2019 in Beijing, which extends for twenty years, is based on the principle of oil for reconstruction in Iraq's infrastructure." He stressed that "the agreement is still active and operative, and funding amounts of nearly two billion dollars have been put in the Federal General Budget Law 2021, in the investment aspect for the purpose of continuing with the agreement," noting that "this is considered to have entered into force.
