The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hassan Al-Kaabi, stressed the need to support the ground forces and enhance their role in imposing the prestige of the state, while calling for strengthening the role of these forces in securing the borders and imposing the prestige of the state.
The media office of the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Kaabi conducted a field visit to the headquarters of the Iraqi ground forces, in which he was accompanied by both the deputies, the head of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Muhammad Rida Al Haidar, and the head of the Agriculture Committee. And the Parliamentary Marshes, Salam Al-Shammari, who were received by the Commander of the Land Forces, Lieutenant-General Qassem Muhammad Salih Al-Muhammadi, and senior officers of the division.
Al-Kaabi praised "the distinguished role of the heroes of the ground forces, officers and soldiers, during the championships to liberate the land of Iraq from the clutches of the terrorist gangs of ISIS, and also for what they are doing on an ongoing basis in protecting citizens in all areas they are entrusted with protecting," recalling "the martyrs of the security services who sacrificed their pure lives in defense of their land and their people."
Al-Kaabi stressed that "the ground forces are the backbone of all formations, being the stake, the pillar and the force holding the ground," noting that "the House of Representatives paid great attention to developing the capabilities of the security services, especially the specialized formations of these forces."
