Spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, announced the arrest of 8 terrorists in three governorates.
''According to the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, with courage, professionalism and patriotism, we are carrying out our duties that stifle terrorism and protect citizens from danger," said Rasool in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He explained that "the counter-terrorism units embarked on a prolonged duty in which our men followed a terrorist cell affiliated with Daesh terrorist gangs, consisting of (5) elements inside the districts of Anbar Governorate, west of the country,''
"The heroes of the Counter-Terrorism Service concluded their duties by arresting Daesh member in Kirkuk, as the number of those arrested reached (8) terrorist elements through a series of duties carried out," he noted.
Rasool explained that ''the Counter-Terrorism Service assures our Iraqi people that the ones belonged to Daesh terrorist gangs, formerly and now, will not escape punishment no matter how much they try to hide or escape,''
