The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasool, announced that the Counter-Terrorism Service foiled a terrorist attack south of Baghdad, while confirming the arrest of 5 terrorists, including a leader, in Baghdad and Anbar.
“According to the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Counter-Terrorism Service continue their qualitative operations to defeat the plans of ISIS terrorist gangs, as the Counter-Terrorism Service foiled a terrorist attack south of Baghdad, by arresting one official of the terrorist cells, who in turn admitted to the presence of a stockpile of equipment containing weapons, ammunition, explosive devices, combat equipment and silencers,” said Rasool in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He added, "After that, the Counter-Terrorism Service headed towards the districts of Anbar, where they were able to arrest 3 members of ISIS remnants,"
“The Counter-Terrorism agency carries out its duties according to judicial orders and with high professionalism, and that its main goal is to reach a secure and stable Iraq in addition to completely eliminate everyone who begs himself to tamper with the country's security," included Rasool.
